Nicholas Cody Receives 2016 EPIC Award!

The EPIC Award is awarded every year at our EPIC Annual Awards Meeting. This years meeting was held on Tuesday, December 20th at the Cape Girardeau Public Library.  The EPIC Award was presented to Nicholas Cody in recognition of his outstanding dedication and service to preventing youth substance abuse.  Nicholas Cody is the Facility Manager at the Division of Youth Services, Girardot Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  We thank Nicholas Cody for all is dedication, initiative and creativity in helping us prevent youth substance abuse!  
If you are interested in learning more about the criteria for receiving the EPIC Award here is the criteria: 
Initiative- Demonstrates the ability to take charge by creating or developing a program, project or activity that is 1) in line with EPIC’s mission, 2) that impacts the community and 3) that demonstrates a commitment to see the project through to its resolution with determined effort.
 
Creativity– Develops or proposes creative ways to accomplish the goals and objectives of the coalition through the program, project or activity.
 
Dedication -Demonstrates dedication to achieving the desired results and accomplishments within the community thus demonstrating the individual’s or group’s pursuit, courage, enthusiasm and zeal toward the program, project or activity.

Joining together in a common effort to build a healthy and safe community, reducing the risks of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs while promoting the healthy attitudes and behaviors of youth in Southeast Missouri.
