EPIC Schools

How does your school impact community?

The EPIC Schools project began in 2014  to recognize schools in Cape Girardeau county who are going above and beyond to build healthy and safe school communities.

For a school to receive this designation, the following criteria must be met:

  • Written policies and procedures related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug use.
  • Age appropriate prevention programming on campus.
  • Empowering students to lead and participate in activities beneficial to the school and/or community.
  • Professional development for teachers and staff in the area of substance abuse prevention including professional development related to asset building and social and emotional learning skills.

Each qualifying school will receive $100 to use toward their chosen school program, recognition in local media throughout the year for their positive impact, and additional recognition items for the school community throughout the year.

To apply, please complete the following application and submit it by November 11. Schools receiving the designation will be announced in December. One entry per school, please.
